I was able to learn more about how the interdisciplinary team in a hospital setting uses informatics to communicate, monitor patients, and ensure their safety through verification of medication orders and surgical operations. Interviewing the ER pharmacist helped me specifically to be able to communicate and anticipate care more thoroughly based on medication orders. I anticipate this helping me to communicate with patients about their care and what to expect as they move through the care system.

One of my major takeaways from this course is dealing with technology avatars to guide me in becoming a better nurse. theres different techs and programs that are available to us as staff and as students to prepare us to be better now that we were before. One of the aspects of this course that push me out of my comfort zone and into a space to interact and build rapport was the group project. Communicating with different colleagues and learning to receive information was a step further to becoming a better equipped nurse. Each day I learn and communicate with other nurses. Some may offer more information than others. but learning that communication is the most important key tool to success is rewarding. I’ll take that with me each and every day and strive for providing the best communication as possible.
